Doceri and Camtasia

I just purchased one Doceri Desktop license ($30) and the Camtasia for Mac Educational License ($75).  Up until now I've only done desktop screencasting with Screencast-o-matic (free and web-based with a 15 minute video limit) and with Screenium for Mac ($40).

I am looking forward to learning all there is to know about Doceri and Camtasia.  YouTube has some great training videos on both, so I hope to become adept at both soon.

I've done a lot of screencasts with iPad apps, but having desktop versions make it easier to screencast "how to use the Web" videos.

Back to Scoop.it!

I'm back to curating content using Scoop.it!  I started bookmarking Flipped Classroom content using Diigo, but I am such a visual learner that I figured Scoop.it! would work better for me.

I'd already Scooped two topics:  "Star Wars Lives On" and "Common Core for Teacher Librarians."  So my new Scoop.it! Topic is:  "Spanish Flipped Classroom."  Of course, other teachers have already curated content, so I've been following Heather Witten's "Foreign Language Flipped Classroom Resources" and Kristen Pontarelli's 5 Curated Topics.

I'm learning more and more each day but have just scratched the surface on an effective Flipped Classroom model.

Looking forward to learning more!

Knowmia Teach

Just completed the Knowmia Teach tutorial.  Up until now I have preferred to use Explain Everything.  However the ability to record the teacher's face is the one thing I need that Explain Everything does not have.  Studies show that students prefer seeing a face over a disembodied voice.

On a desktop this can be done on Screencastomatic in 15 minute increments.  Screencastomatic also allows me to download the screencast as a video file or export to YouTube.

Knowmia Teach, on the other hand, can only be hosted on Knowmia's servers or downloaded as a weird ".ktl" file, unreadable by any program but Knowmia.  However, there are ways to make it a video....

Udemy

Learning more about the Flipped Classroom in a tutorial at Udemy.com:  https://www.udemy.com/online-video-to-flip-the-classroom.  The medium is the message!

Sophia.org

I love love love Sophia.org.  Great for presenting and organizing content.  I am now Flip Certified by Sophia.org.  I got a cool gray t-shirt.  More info here.

FlipCon13

I did not attend FlipCon13, but I've paid for the virtual sessions.  Right now watching the Keynote with Jon Bergmann and Aaron Sams:

Notes.

I was able to read their book in June.  Excellent concept.  I'm working this summer to do the flip.  Using the Flipped Learning Ning to learn from those who have done it.

Bergmann suggests, at minute 68, that teachers make videos because of RELATIONSHIP to students.

Good teaching about Content, Curiosity and Relationship.

The videos focus on the two bottom layers of Bloom's Taxonomy.  Focus on the top levels IN CLASS!!!

I've created this blog because I do need to be more reflective.  Great graphic on Reflection.
